Look at trends in hot searches with Google Trends.

 

Google Trends is a free tool from google that provides data and graphs on the popularity of specific searches on Google and YouTube.

 

 

How google trends are helpful for business?

It’s one kind of keyword research tool. By that you get an idea of what the query or terms are being used by your target audience to search about products/services that you provide.

If you have a YouTube channel, then google trends is most beneficial as it gives you an idea about the topic where the audience would like more details. So that by identifying those topics you can make your own video on your language that your audience understood easily.

You can also find what your local area audience is searching about services related to yours. So by short listing those keywords and optimize in your website & local listing page (Ex. GMB)

You can get the search volume of the query, but remember that some keywords are seasonal keywords. This search volume of keywords increases, especially in particular time frames.

Let’s take an example of Digital Marketing Agency.

Open link: https://trends.google.com/trends/?geo=IN

Note: Make sure you select the right target country when you are performing a search query. For that option is on the top-right corner.

Search for “Digital Marketing”. After hitting the search button you get 2 graph & 2 table on the page. The names are: Interest over-time, Interest by sub-region, Related topics & Related queries.

You can expand the timeframe to get data of selected timeframe. You can predict how much your target audience is searching about the services you provide.

 

 

On the Related topics & Related queries table, you get percentages that show an increase in search volume.

Also, you notice the word “Breakout”. According to Google, “breakout” means that Google doesn’t have enough search volume data for a meaningful “before” and “after”% difference.

 

Here you can perform different search queries to shortlist keywords that you consider being worth targeting.

Related Topics is useful for those who want to create a course or series of YouTube videos on a particular related topic to your business.

You can get the search volume of the query, but remember that some keywords are seasonal keywords. This search volume of keywords increases, especially in particular time frames.

So it’s better to avoid those types of keywords to use in your main keywords.

Google Trends gives you an idea on which you should focus but also lookout on other keyword research tools.
